Portland experimental duo Muscle and Marrow have premiered a new track from their upcoming sophomore album, Love, at Brooklyn Vegan. Titled “Black Hole”, the sprawling track begins with swelling mantra-like electronics before exploding into highly textural doom and gloom. Vocalist/guitarist Kira Clark’s soaring vocals give the thick track an even greater emotional punch. Clark had the following to say regarding the track:

California’s Miserable – the doomy shoegaze solo project of Kristina Esfandiari (King Woman, etc) – recently premiered the official video for the track “Stay Cold”, which comes from the impending Uncontrollable LP, at CVLT Nation. Esfandiari says of the project in her own words:
“My friend Neil Davis and I collaborated on the video for ‘Stay Cold’ with two of our dear friends: Ethan White & Jordan Beswetherick. All Neil and I had on deck were a dozen roses.
This song also features Kyle Bates of drowse. One of my favorite musicians coming out of Portland right now. It was such a pleasure working with him.
In my own sentiment, this song is about having a powerful connection with someone, forgetting about time when you’re around them – though you can’t be together due to them dealing with loss, they aren’t in their right mind, it’s awful timing.
It’s about the one you love being emotionally stuck, numb, incapable of communicating emotions clearly. The bond is overwhelmingly real but ultimately you have to walk away from the situation very confused and heartbroken in order to keep your sanity intact.”

Uncontrollable will be released on April 29 via The Native Sound.
