Atmospheric black metallers Wayfarer have premiered a new track from their upcoming album, Old Souls, at Metal Injection. The new track is titled “All Lost in Aimless Chaos” and it is a 10-minute whirlwind of heaviness and raw emotion. The track barrels forth with dismal, destructive blackened blitzkriegs that range from standard black metal attacks, to more complex and intricate passages. Serene and somber clean interludes also offer up moments of tranquility between the song’s movements of melancholic violence. Check it out after the break.

Baltimore sludge outfit Musket Hawk have premiered a new track from their impending record, Desolate, at Decibel. Titled “Candidate for the Knife”, the tumultuous new track begins with gloom sludge stylings before launching into bursts of thrashing, grimy heaviness. It’s a volatile track that will have listeners picking their teeth off of the floor. Check it out now.

South Carolinian progressive black/death metal outfit Enthean have premiered a new track from their upcoming album, Priests of Annihilation, over at No Clean Singing. Tilted “Before You, I Am”, the genre-bending, seven-minute opus unleashes fluries of melodic black metal, gut-wrenching death metal assaults and entrancing, intricate melodies. Jimmy Aly (The Communion) has announced the release of his new solo recording under his moniker, Swollen Organs. Titled Feelings About Gender Guilt Over Time, the new record explores the relationships between gender roles and sexuality through the use of noise, drone and haunting atmospheres. The release is due out on May 13 via Annihilvs Power Electronix on digital and digipak CDR formats.

Arizona sludge duo Methra

) have announced the release of their new full-length record, Acolyte
, which follows their 2014 IV-Ronkonkoma
EP, will be released on July 4 through Battleground Records. The record was captured in late 2015 at Arcane Digital (North Side Kings
, Landmine Marathon
) with Ryan Butler.
According to a press release, the concept behind Acolyte is “based on persistent online rumors that a cabal of top amplifier manufacturers had Hartley Peavey killed and replaced with a doppelganger in the late 80s to stop the company from collapsing the industry due to low price points on the highest quality original amplifiers in the world”.
The album’s artwork, track listing and pre-order information is slated to be unveiled in the coming weeks. In the meantime, stream their IV-Ronkonkoma EP after the break.
Portugal’s stoner rock quartet Miss Lava have debuted the official video for their track “The Silent Ghost of Doom” at Decibel. The groove heavy stunner, which comes from their upcoming Sonic Debris LP, is set to a flashy performance video crafted by director Bruno Simões, with direction of photography by Mr. Ivo Cordeiro. Vocalist Johnny Lee says of the track:
“This is a loud one that shouts about freeing yourself from tedium, apathy and past time glories,…The broken mirror sights the silent ghost of doom.”

Richmond doom crew Cough
have premiered a new track from their upcoming album, Still They Pray
, at Stereogum.
The new track is titled “Dead Among the Roses” and it slowly marches through nearly 11 minutes of raw, gloomy filth. The track stomps about with towering riffs and semi-psychedelic leads that work together to create a decimating experience. Check out the track after the break.

Pacific Northwest black metal outfit Wolves in the Throne Room
have announced that they will reissue their 2006 debut full-length, Diadem of 12 Stars
, this June via Artemisia Records. Previously physically unavailable for many years, this new reissue was carefully remastered by Jason Ward at Chicago Mastering Service. The record is due out on June 17 on CD, 2XLP, cassette and digital formats. Pre-orders can be obtained here.
The band have also announced a string of tour dates in September in support of the reissue. Those dates can be found below.
