Ohio sludge veterans Fistula have announced the follow-up LP to 2014’s critically-heralded Vermin Prolificus. The new record will be titled Longing for Infection and will be self-released by the band on July 15. The record was recorded and engineered by Dave Johnson (Midnight, Incantation, Soulless) and features the return of founding member Bahb Branca on second guitar. The album’s artwork and track listing can be found after the break, along with a stream of new track “Too Many Devils and Drugs”.

Norwegian avant-garde rockers Virus have premiered the official video to their track, “Rogue Fossil”, at Stereogum. The nauseating, dissonant and angular tune, which comes from the group’s upcoming Memento Collider LP, is set to an equally elaborate and odd animated clip. Costin Chioreanu, creator of the video, had the following to say:
“I went beyond all my boundaries and I have a feeling I touched a bit of insanity. You know that it’s going to be something unique.”

Colorado apocalyptic black metal duo Cobalt have announced a fall North American tour in support of their recently released full-length, Slow Forever. The new trek will span from September 1 through September 24 and will see support from Germany’s Mantar, who will be supporting their new Ode to the Flame full-length. Chicagoan instrumental rock/metal titans Russian Circles have premiered a new track from their upcoming album, Guidance, at Rolling Stone. The new track is titled “Vorel” and it showcases the trio at their heaviest. The track begins with a menacing, pummeling drum pattern before the track explodes into the band’s typical moody and devastating auditory assaults. Check out the tune after the break.
