San Francisco doom outfit Castle have premiered the official video for their new track, “Hammer and the Cross”, at Revolver. The new tune, which will appear on the group’s upcoming Welcome to the Graveyard full-length, is set to a gloomy performance video directed by Jaan Silmberg. Vocalist/bassist Elizabeth Blackwell commented:
“The song ‘Hammer and the Cross’ commands a lot of space and we wanted to find a location to match its starkness. We filmed the video at an old, abandoned dairy farm north of Toronto in the middle of February in Canada. The cold, swirling imagery is a perfect compliment to the hypnotic doomy sounds of the song. It was a successful collaboration with our director, Jaan (Silmberg / Pistoltrixx) and a lot of fun to make.”
Check out the video and the band’s upcoming tour dates after the break.
Welcome to the Graveyard will be released on July 15 via Ván Records.
