Tuscon-based sludge metallers Methra have premiered their upcoming record, Acolyte, at The Obelisk. The album will officially be released Monday, July 4, via Battleground Records. Acolyte features 10 songs of fuzzy, gritty sludge fans of Melvins, Eyehategod and the like will salivate over. The band’s eccentric nature, combined with a concept based upon online rumors speculating that Hartley Peavey was killed and replaced with a doppelganger in the late ‘80s to stop Peavey Amplifiers from collapsing the industry due to low price points, make for endlessly entertaining listen.
