Toronto-based progressive sludge trio Ayahuasca (Godstopper, et al) have announced the release of their sophomore full-length record and follow-up to 2013’s Plato’s Dark Horse. The new record will be titled Yin and will see a release on September 9. It was recorded by guitarist Luke Roberts (except drums which were recorded by Greg Dawson) and was mixed and mastered by Dawson at BWC Studios. Roberts says of the new album:
“Our last record was much more progressive, long winded, and full of details. This is a much more fast-paced, vomitus, cathartic release of anger that is kind of childish at times if I may speak frankly. Making this record satisfies the need to express a muse that’s been bothering me since I was a teenager in the vein of the constantly dissatisfied stress and anger laden punk/grunge bands I grew up listening to.”
The album’s artwork and track listing can be found after the break.
The album’s first single “Dinosaurs”, which sounds like the bastard child of The Melvins and Alice in Chains, can also be found below.
