I received a reply almost immediately giving thanks and also expressing an appreciation for my band’s name (the tweet was sent from my band’s twitter) and origin (the name is a lyric from a hum song.)

Vancouver death metal outfit Auroch
, et al) have premiered a new track from their forthcoming album, Mute Books
, over at Decibel.
The track in question is titled “He Wreaths the Cross” and it weaves together traditional gore-soaked death metal stylings with angular, dissonant flare. Vocalist/guitarist Sebastian Montesi said of the track:
“’He Wreaths The Cross’ is the second part of the initial movement of Mute Books, titled ‘Trefoil Is The Grail Of Perdition.’ The first three songs comprise this movement, and borrow from each other thematically and musically. It has quickly become Zack’s (drums) favorite song to play live. One listen should indicate why.”
Check out the track now.
Mute Books will be released on October 21 via Profound Lore Records.
Black metal collective Martröð (Leviathan, etc) have released a new track from their highly-anticipated debut album, Transmutation of Wounds, which is due out later this year via Fallen Empire Records and Terratur Possessions. The new track is titled “Draumleiðsla” and it is a maddening, hell-spawned affair. The track begins with nearly two-minutes of apocalyptic soundscapes before the band launch into twisting and churning, atmospheric, blackened hell. Stream the tune after the break.
