Combining hazy-eyed stoner groove with grunge grit and industrial splendor, Walking Bombs is an interesting project that is both unique and familiar. Walking Bombs is the side project of New York musician and music journalist Morgan Evans (ex-Divest, Antidote 8) who, along with a revolving door of collaborators, creates multifaceted rock tunes that alternative and weird music fans both can get into. Svbterranean are stoked to premiere the new single from the project. “Peace Quest: Ephedra Fragilis”. The track, which will appear on the forthcoming Peace Quest EP, was mixed by Jay Andersen of noise band Surmiser in Saugerties, NY and mastered by grunge legend Tad Doyle at Witch Ape Studios. The song also sees Evans teaming up with multi-instrumentalist Martyr Art. Evans says of the track:
“Jay had this stompy structure that was High On Fire influenced and he played drums and guitar on it,…We sent it to Martyr Art and he added a sick solo and psychotic fuzz bass, both of which added an almost Pantera feel to a few sections. I’m thrilled. The song is about how hard it is to keep your temper in check when under attack or also facing naysayers and Grima Wormtongue types in life…but trying your best to be peaceful even when super triggered. It’s funny because you literally never know what genre you will get from this project of mine. The next record will not be this heavy as a handful of the PEACE QUEST tunes.”

Peace Quest will be released on November 4 via Bandcamp.
