Staunton, Virginia’s Diseased Earth have been on my radar for a while now. Featuring former members of The Leviathan’s Mandible and Death from Massive Damage, the band have been making a name for themselves playing shows consistently over the past few years. They’ve also offered up two demos and an EP since their 2014 inception. Now, the blackened sludge four-piece unleash their new three-track release, simply titled Promo 2017.
Experimental black metal band Dodecahedron are set to release their new album, Kwintessens, tomorrow (March 17) and they’re offering up a full stream of the release right now. The Netherlands band follows up their 2012 self-titled offering with one that is even more sinister, featuring dissonant noise and chaotic rhythms clashing with beautiful atmospheres and haunting vocals. Check out all of the glorious darkness after the break.

In the late 90’s and early 2000’s Ferret Music (since reborn as Good Fight) was releasing some of the best records in mathcore. Along with classic albums from Every Time I Die, Heavy Heavy Low Low, Burnt By the Sun, and Scarlet, Ferret also released See You Next Tuesday‘s quintessential 18 minute MySpace-era masterpiece, Parasite. CUNT‘s previous efforts had lacked this kind of precision or production, and I was immediately smitten by the As the Sun Sets-esque approach with more liberal use of the breakdown, and the addition of vocalist Chris Fox, previously of Flesh and Blood Robot.
Black metal/funeral doom/neofolk hybrids Isenordal have announced the release of their debut full-length album. The record, which follows the band’s 2014 demo, will be titled Shores of Mourning and will be released on March 25 via Eternal Warfare Records (cassette) and Pest Productions (CD, release date still pending). The album’s artwork and track listing can be found after the break, along with a stream of the album’s title track.
