Houston post-metal quartet Pyreship are poised to release their debut full-length recording, The Liars Bend Low, this Friday, May 26, via Black Bow Records. In anticipation for this forthcoming opus, we at Svbterranean are stoked to bring you a stream of the album’s second track, “Machine Men”.
Throughout the record, these Texans blend elements of post-metal, sludge and doom, with the spirit of 90s slowcore running a thread through it. This is best showcased here in the seven-minute leviathan “Machine Men”. Propelled by clips of Charlie Chaplin’s famous speech from The Great Dictator, the band unleash somber, melodic yet crushing instrumentation throughout. Towering guitar riffs flatten listeners beneath their weight, while seismic drumming finishes the job on this steadily destructive listen.
Check out the track after the break and follow the band on Facebook.
