Oakland-based death metal horde Necrot will unroll their debut full-length Blood Offering tomorrow, but why wait until then to get a dose of this nasty death metal mastery? The band is currently streaming the record for all to hear and, as someone who has been jamming this for a while, I can honestly say this is some of my favorite death metal of the year. Great shit. Check out a full stream of the album after the jump. OSDM-worship is heavy. Continue Reading
One of my most anticipated death metal releases of the year comes from relatively new Oregonian band Witch Vomit. The band will spew out their new EP Poisoned Blood at the end of the month and have just released a new track. The track is titled “Accursed Temple of The Great Deceiver” and it is a crushing slab of OSDM worship. Keep your eye on this band. They’re going to make lists come December. Continue Reading
Bison, or Bison B.C., not sure which nom du groupe they are going by, but I think it may be the former, will unleash their new album You Are No The Ocean You Are The Patient at the end of the month. I still actively listen to the bands 2012 release Lovelessness, and this new one is sounding fantastic. The band is currently streaming a new track titled “Water Becomes Fire,” which you can hear below. It premiered over on Brooklyn Vegan and it is dope as fuck. Check it out. Now. Continue Reading
Couch Slut are essentially a noise rock band but they have so much more about them that makes me love them. They’ve got that noisy vibe, but the black metal and post-hardcore elements really make them special and, man, they rule. The band has released a track from their new album Contempt which comes out next month on Gilead Media. This track is called “Funeral Dyke” and it’s a fucking banger. It premiered over on Clrvynt. Duuuude. Check it out after the jump. I’ll be jamming it all day. Continue Reading
Longstanding noise rock outfit Unsane have announced that they will unload their new album Sterilize via their new record label home of Southern Lord Recordings. Southern Lord does a phenomenal job with bands of this caliber and I’m really stoked to see how the self-produced album comes out. The band will be touring in support of the record this summer along with the band Fashion Week. Check out all of the dates below. Continue Reading
Swedish sludge trio Siberian‘s sophomore full-length Through Ages of Sleep, which was previously released in Europe, will see a worldwide release on June 30 via The Sign Records.
The apocalyptic effort follows 2014’s Modern Age Mausoleum and continues the band’s “Age Trilogy” – a series of conceptual works that examine modern society through a more cynical point of view and is deeply influenced by dystopian literature. What better genre to fit these dark views of humanity than chaotic sludge metal? We personally cannot think of one.
In anticipation of its impending North American release, we at Svbterranean are stoked to bring you a stream of the album’s seventh track, “Kingdoms”. This devastating tune is full of tremendous low end, towering riffs and angular, rhythmically-jarring madness that could be likened to Remission-era Mastodon. If that sounds like something that would interested you, or if coffee isn’t enough to kick your ass this morning, then check out this rambunctious banger after the break.
