Australian grindcore miscreants King Parrot offer another generous helping of rowdy, thrashing tunes on their third full-length offering, Ugly Produce.
Though the Melbourne-based act have been cranking out rambunctious, irreverent jams since about 2010, it wasn’t until the 2014 reissue of their debut full-length, Bite Your Head Off, that King Parrot began to turn heads. Its razor-sharp riffs, hyperactive rhythms and ridiculous sense of humor was a breath of fresh of air in a genre that sometimes takes itself a bit too seriously (that goes for extreme metal as a whole as well). In addition to their abrasive yet comedic tunes, appearances at SXSW and other festivals and the adoration and support of Philip Anselmo also aided in putting the Aussies in the grind spotlight.
