If you remember me from my days at American Aftermath, you probably saw me post about Plague Widow AT LEAST once. If not, let me catch you up. Plague Widow are a blackened deathgrind band who have been on hiatus for about four years now. Apparently the band worked on some new material in 2015 and it is finally seeing the light of day. This is insanely exciting for me and it should be for you also. Check out the new tracks, eight in total, below. SO GOOD. Continue Reading
Arkansas rock band (proclaimed “humcore” by our own Lane Oliver) released their terrific new 7″ EP Lonely Frontier earlier in the year and they have now released a music video for the track “Pinholes.” I’m loving this band and their output is 100%. Check out the very DIY video below and be sure to stream/pick up their new EP now. Continue Reading
Not familiar with Marijannah? Well, that would be because they’re a new act out of Singapore that is comprised of members of Wormrot, The Caulfield Cult and Abolition AD. That is one hell of a pedigree, as each of these bands range all the way across the spectrum of music. Rocking post-hardcore/emo, sludgy doom and vicious grindcore merging spectacularly into one psychedelic stoner rock act that I’m loving. Check out the bands first track “Snakecharmer” below! Chicago’s The Mons walk a fine line between bratty punk rock and old school hardcore on their forthcoming full-length effort, The Mons Trust No One, which is due out on October 20 via Triple Eye Industries. In preparation for its unleash, we at Svbterranean present an exclusive stream of its second track, “Trust No One”. The 90-second stormer delivers a high octane barrage of 80s hardcore riffage that collide with angular, snotty licks and a myriad of eccentric vocals. Fans of Circle Jerks and OFF!, take note.
Check out the track after the break.
In SVB Halloween Theater, we asked various musicians and fellow bloggers to talk about some of their favorite horror films.
