Weaving together elements of doom, drone, noise and sounds most unsettling, Gnaw create a unique sonic atmosphere that is soul-crushing and psychologically demanding. It would seem each of their releases gets more intense and outre than the last, with their third full-length effort, Cutting Pieces, sitting at the apex of this constant evolution. This 40-minute exercise in aural terror, which is now available through Translation Loss, is perfect for metalheads with masochistic tendencies.
Svbterranean recently caught up with three-fifths of the noise unit to discuss the new record, songwriting and more.

Back in October, Arizona weirdos The Oxford Coma released the follow-up to their well-received 2015 LP, Paris is Mine, titled Everything Out of Tune. Much like its predecessor, Everything Out of Tune continues to build upon the band’s eclectic sound; a mix of psychedelic rock, grunge, stoner, progressive rock and many others. To promote this eccentric album further, the band created a lyric video for the track “Patterns of Thought”, which we at Svbterranean are proud to present to you. The track is an interesting mashup of acid-laced desert rock vibes and angular, jagged guitar work, which is set to video clips with anti-Trump sentiments. If you like catchy, oddball tunes, or dislike Number 45, check out the clip after the break.
