It’s spring break and once again you do not have any plans. Jim from Accounting invites you and some other coworkers to a weekend getaway at some popular beach somewhere. You agree to tag along because you think you need to get out more and be more sociable. You will soon, unsurprisingly, regret your decision.
You arrive at your destination and the beach is congested with suntanned university students 10 years or more younger than you causing the most drunken commotion they can. The sun is brighter than you remember it being. The flip-flops you bought last minute at a gas stations are highly uncomfortable. You can already feel a sunburn coming on. Is that Imagine Dragons blaring out of someone speakers? You hope it’s not. You secretly wish for a shark attack to break up the monotony. You realize you are miserable and remember why you do not go out in the first place.
How will you escape the torment of the outdoors and socialization? Our suggestion: find a nice secluded area and blare our new Spring Breakdown mixtape as loud as possible.
Hardcore and all of its subsidiaries and fusion genres are generally loved by most of us here at Svbterranean, so it seemed like a wise decision on our part to curate a new compilation around these styles. Spring Breakdown is over a half-hour of some of the heaviest hardcore, grindcore, metalcore and powerviolence you could possibly find. With 16 tracks and over a half-hour of music, Spring Breakdown features an eclectic mix of bands, none of which sound alike, but all stem from the same place at their core. We personally think it slaps, but we’re biased.
Stream/download the full compilation below, or find an alternative download link HERE. As always, if you enjoy any of the bands featured on the tape, please support them in any way possible. Check it out now and don’t listen to Jim from Accounting ever again.
