Blast Beats is a column in which extreme music artists discuss their favorite hip-hop records
In this edition of Blast Beats, WAKE frontman Kyle Ball stopped by to discuss three of his personal favorite hip-hop projects. Check out his selections after the break.
Gravediggaz – Six Feet Deep
– The first time I heard Gravediggaz was the song ‘1-800-SUICIDE and it was on the Demon Knight soundtrack. I was shocked because I didn’t know that rap and metal could co-exist together. I got Six Feet Deep about a year later and it’s been in constant rotation ever since.
Lil Ugly Mane – Mista Thug Isolation
– I heard this album when WAKE first toured with Primitive Man and I instantly fell in love with basically this guys full discography but this album especially. LUM is a BOSS.
The Buttress – Behind Every Great Man
– This girls got bars. Lyrically and beatwise this album is great through and through. I have a hip hop project that I make beats for called SNHK and we were lucky enough to collaborate with Bethany on a track called ‘Haxorna’.
