Mixed, Not Stirred is a weekly column in which artists curate special, themed playlists via Spotify or other mediums.
In this week’s Mixed, Not Stirred, Allfather return with a playlist comprised of some of their favorite tracks of 2018 thus far. The band said of the playlist:
“Always great fun putting a good playlist together and for this we thought, rather than focus on the sort of songs and bands that have influenced the band, we would choose some songs from this year that are getting repeated spins on the decks at Allfather Towers. Quite frankly this could have been way longer as loads of great music has come out in 2018.
We have some hardcore punk and grind goodness from Redbait and HIRS, a devastatingly heavy track from Gatecreeper (man, that intro), two, yes two tracks from the new Sleep album which Al claims to be one of the best metal album’s in the last ten years. The Skeletonwitch album is clearly an evolution in the bands sound and Temple of the Sun is fantastic, especially those melodic vocal parts and Joe is loving new Nine Inch Nails stuff still after seeing them at the Royal Albert Hall.
There is also a Ghost track, so there’s that.
Hirs – Always Surviving
Body Void – Haunted
Al (Lead Guitar):
Gatecreeper – Dead Inside
Sleep – The Boatanist
Redbait – We Refuse
Skeletonwitch – Temple of the Sun
Ghost – Dance Marcarbe
Machine Head – Catharsis
Joe (Rhythm Guitar):
Nine Inch Nail – Over and Out
Sleep – Marijuanaut’s Theme”
