Atlanta post-goth powerhouse Dead Register are set to release their new EP, Captive, this Friday, November 2. Picking up where 2016’s Fiber left off, the Captive EP shows the trio continuing to refine and build upon their unique blend of post-punk, post-metal, and Goth rock. In anticipation of its release, we here at Svbterranean bring you an exclusive early stream of the record in all of its gloomy glory. Dead Register bassist and vocalist M. Chvasta had the following to say regarding the new release:
“Here is the full stream of Dead Register’s Captive EP. These song are a hodgepodge of short (for us), weird ideas that we threw at our new drummer Danny Ryann after our longtime drummer and friend Chad had to resign. We decided to postpone our proposed full-length record to focus on one song “Captive” for a single and a video. Our engineer Dan Dixon stated that recording one song was not worth the time/money and commanded that we deliver more songs to record. We tailored a few of our more focused ideas with Mr. Ryann to deliver a short, bitter-sweet taste of solemn magic to remind you in 2018 that Dead Register commands your attention. The new music video for Captive should be ready for consumption, at the latest, mid/late November. CONSUME.”
