Back in July, Sheffield-based sludge outfit Kurokuma released a two-track EP titled Dope Rider. Based on the comic strip of the same name, Kurokuma weave tales of the eponymous character with huge, bludgeoning riffs. Finnish death act Corpsessed let us into their world once again with their sophomore effort titled “Impetus of Death”. This time around, Corpsessed hopes to achieve more when it comes to heavy writing and overall brutality. While taking their time in songwriting, they have achieved a sense of atmosphere and evil without having to go at excessive speeds at all times. This modern death delight should appeal to you fans of early 90’s death metal, Swedish death metal and death-doom genres alike.
