  1. Ah, yes, lists. Trying to brute force my brain to recap things I have accidentally forgotten or deliberately suppressed.

Failure – In The Future Your Body Will Be The Furthest Thing From Your Mind. The choice to release this in the form of EPs throughout the year killed a bit of joy when the final thing was released as 3/4 of the album weren’t that fresh anymore, but damn, they are at their best here.

Ceremony – East Coast (absolutely positively definitely, and to a lesser amount the oddities collection Darling, too). It’s the A Place to Bury Strangers record I wanted, but did not get. Speaking of…
A Place to Bury Strangers – Pinned. May count as biggest disappointment of the year as their reinvention was daring but didn’t quite work out. Most of the songs are anti-climactic skeletons. The new drummerette is golden, though.

Daughters seems to be the new shit, I have seen this listed everywhere and beyond but I could never get into it. Sounds like two graveyards having sinister sex together, it’s creeping me out big time. Also what happened to Ken Mode? Is this the same band anymore? I enjoyed Success very much lately and it sounds vastly different.

The Joy Formidable – AAARTH. The band should be headlining the biggest festival stages one can find. But it’s always just Rise Against, Foo Fighters and Alt-J. I don’t know why. Makes no sense. They should be bigger than all of those combined. Also I can never tell if the chick is hot or not (opinion changing by the minute)
    Ovlov – TRU
Single Mothers – Through A Wall
    Hot Snakes – Jericho Sirens
Clutch – Book of Bad Decisions

To a greater or lesser extent I also liked BRMC, Sinking Suns, Therapy?, Black Moth, and Wrong.

Best moment of 2018? Germany utterly failing the World Cup and the backlash that followed. Priceless.

P.S. How are you, man? Everything ok?
