Inferno‘s blistering brand of thrash metal comes storming in with breakneck riffs and crossover attitude on their sophomore full-length, Basado en Hechos Reales.
Embracing the nitty gritty over flashy technicality, Ceuta’s Inferno deliver a straightforward, pummeling thrash sound that rips and roars with unbridled fury. Their galloping mayhem is proudly put on display on Basado en Hechos Reales, cranking out 34 minutes of catchy, hammering tunes. It doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel, but it doesn’t have to with memorable mosh tunes like these.
From the stampede of razorwire guitar riffs on “Ruega por Nosotros”, to the old school thrash and bash of “Noches sin Tregua”, Basado en Hechos Reales cranks out one mega hit after the next. Songs like “Como a Marionetas” cycle back-and-forth between palm-muted frenzies, spine-snapping rhythms, and face-shredding solos for maximum damage. Other cuts, such as “Condenado a Vivir”, beats listeners senseless with a combination of pounding power chords and high octane drumming.
The album’s fifth track, “Apriétate el Bozal”, stands out from the pack with its bouncing thrash grooves and chugging power chords that kick into maximum overdrive at a moment’s notice. The following track, “Espiral de Mentiras”, also stands out with its mix of brooding, stomping riffs, sudden shifts in speed, and dissonant solo work.
There’s a lot of fast, face-ripping fun to be had on Basado en Hechos Reales. Those looking for a no nonsense thrash record should look no further.
