Grey Skies Fallen and Buckshot Facelift bandmates Tom Anderer and Rick Habeeb trade in the doom, gloom, and grind for dreamy post-rock soundscapes in Brave the Waters. Finding a sweet spot between the atmospheric folk of Sun Kil Moon and the glossy grandeur of Explosions in the Sky, the music of Brave the Waters paints vivid, emotive portraits in listeners’ minds.
Today we at Svbterranean are excited to bring you an exclusive early stream of the duo’s forthcoming sophomore album, Chapter II – Days of Solitude, which will officially be released this Friday, February 1. For roughly 40 minutes, Brave the Waters craft gorgeous, partly-improvised, guitar-led compositions that are nothing short of serene. The band said the following of the record:
“These songs are sad and somber but reveal hope in the darkest places of self-consciousness and are very thoughtful. The album tells a detailed story without words, allowing the listener to evoke the settings and characters their imagination creates from the ambient soundtrack…”
