If that interests you, and it should, then you are in luck! We at Svbterranean are excited to bring you an exclusive early stream of the EP in all of its brutal glory. It would be unwise of you to sleep on this banger of a record.
As an added bonus, drummer Nick Tupi and guitarist Louis Snyder stopped by to dissect the album track-by-track. Check out all the goods below.
1. The Nuclear Unclear
The Nuclear Unclear – This was our first song, written by Brooks Lou & Nick right out of the gate after forming circa Spring 2017. The lyrics are a lamentation on the myopic enthusiasm for transhumanism and the reality of the Technological Singularity occurring. Every part of Nuclear has evolved, improved, and been refined a lot in the past two years through personnel changes and musical growth, and we think the final product shows that in its relentlessly crushing but also catchy flow. (Nick Tupi)
2. Cosmic Undulations
Cosmic is a black/death pulverizer of a track that tosses you in an industrial drier along with some brutally efficient blast riffs ala Mortician, slow-churning breakdowns, and a bevy of slick guitar leads…This metaphor having been led up to by a super fun tribal war drum buildup intro that plays the pocket nicely as it adds powerful suspense. Cosmic finally drags your beaten and industrially-dried carcass into the sunset via a progressively slowing sledgehammer of an outro. (Nick Tupi)
3. Event Horizon Of Artificial Existence
Dead center of the album, Through a journey of riffs and blast beats, We added a straightforward breakdown that makes the listener want to nod their head with the motion to this entourage of a riff. Leading out of that to harsh ambient guitars, this song evolves and becomes melodic in a way with a catchy solo with lots of delays. (Nick Tupi)
4. Consumed By What Is Unknown
“Consumed By The Unknown” to me is a delicious metal subgenre Reuben sandwich that satisfies all. It starts with your basic doomy and chewy marble rye bread with a light spread of atmospheric sounds, as a tangy Thousand Island dressing. Add your tech-death sounding riffs and gnarly grindcore proteins in the middle, for that savory main course flavor, and slow it down again for the sauerkraut that leaves you burping and remembering what you just had… Consumed.” (Louis Snyder)
5. Metrics Distortion
I want to say that this song is going to define our sound for the next album that we’ve already been heavily writing. It was the first song with the entire line up adding a piece to the the puzzle when Dan and Rob joined the band in 2018. With plenty of intricate technical riffs, shreddy solo, and ambience in the mix. This is the sound I personally want to strive for. More atmosphereic layering and heavy use of delays and reverbs in our over all sound yet still be punishing with catchy riffs that will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. (Louis Snyder)
