Salt Lake City, Utah sludge trio The Ditch and the Delta are set to release their new album, Hives in Decline, in a couple days (May 12) and they’re offering up a full stream right now via Metal Underground. Recorded by Andy Patterson (Subrosa), the album features seven tracks of uniquely structured sludge/doom with lyrical themes that deal with their disdain for the Mormon-dominated culture in Utah. Virginian “swamp metal” outfit Lord have premiered a new track from their forthcoming album, Blacklisted, via The Independent Voice. Japanese metal legends Boris have announced the release of their twenty-third studio album, which marks the band’s 25th year of existence. The new record will be titled Dear and is due out on July 14 via Sargent House. The band said the following regarding the impending release:

Copenhagen sludge outfit LLNN and Los Angeles post-metallers Wovoka have announced the release of their forthcoming split LP. The split album will bear the title Marks/Traces and will see a release on June 16 via Pelagic Records on CD, LP and digital formats. LLNN contributes six new tracks to the Marks side of the split, while Wovoka delivers one lengthy composition to the Traces side. The album’s track listing can be found after the break.
