I may be in the minority, but I really like the new Code Orange album Forever. A lot of people aren’t into it and I can understand why, as it took a bit to grow on me, but now I’m into it. The band aren’t stopping the promotion for the album, which was released in January, and have just unveiled their weird-ass new music video for their track “The Mud.” This track relies a lot on electronic elements and is one of my least favorites on the album, but who am I? From their teenage metallic hardcore beginnings as Code Orange Kids, to their stylistic shift to groove-heavy metalcore and subsequent name change, to their continuous appearances on high profile festivals and tours, Code Orange have positioned themselves as one of the extreme metal acts to watch. Regardless of how one might feel about their persona and change in sound, it is impressive to see a band so young climb to such ranks in such a short amount of time.
Code Orange have premiered the official video to the title track of their highly-anticipated new record, Forever, at Rolling Stone. The groove-laden metallic bashing is set to a bizarre, ritualistic video directed by Max Moore. Check out the clip after the break.
