Man it was a phenomenal year for heavy music, wasn’t it? Even if you were just a fan of one single genre, there were enough options to keep you entertained throughout the entire year!!! I somehow managed to focus on death metal but also found some gems outside of extreme music, two of which you will find here. Also, another genre of music I focused more on was synthwave, damn I love that stuff! While I did enjoy some fam jams quite a bit in 2017, it’s a safe bet that none of that will be in this top 25. A lot of talent and wonderful albums dropped this year, I could have easily done a top 100 like I did a few years ago but I will spare you. I hope you enjoy and if you haven’t heard of some of these….make sure you listen to them!!!
Dying Fetus has a reputation of great music that hits hard with some slams as well as drive you insane with wicked technical riffing. They also seem to improve their game the longer they are around, with “Reign Supreme” being one of my favorite albums by them. “Wrong One To Fuck With” at first may seem like a straight edge hardcore band album title but the music that bleeds from this album, as well as the menacing lyrics, really makes this release one to be taken seriously. It’s been a long time since this band has released anything and it’s business as usual.
Death metal titans Dying Fetus have premiered another new single from their forthcoming, highly-anticipated album, Wrong One to Fuck With, via Lambgoat. The new track is titled “Die With Integrity” and it is full of the things that make Dying Fetus, Dying Fetus; slamming, disemboweling riffs and face-melting technicality. Check out the track after the break.
Wrong One to Fuck With will be released on July 23 via Relapse Records.
The legendary Dying Fetus will be making their triumphant return this summer in the form of Wrong One To Fuck With, which is probably my favorite album title of the year. Now, I’m not a crazy Fetus fan, but this record is sounding pretty fucking rad. The band has just unleashed a new music video for their track “Panic Amongst The Herd” which you can check out below. It’s weird and insane, just as you would expect from Dying Fetus. Check it. Continue Reading
