The upcoming collaborative album between Japanese titans Boris and Merzbow, Gensho, can now be streamed in full at Thump. The album will officially be released this Friday, March 18, via Relapse Records. Pre-orders can be found here. Named after the Japanese word for “phenomenon”, Gensho is a unique release that will feature over 150 minutes of new music. Boris‘ contributions are reworkings of classic tracks from the band’s back catalog, while Merzbow‘s tracks are new compositions. Though they can be played separately, both discs are intended to be played at the same time at varying volumes so that the listener may experience their own “gensho/phenomenon”.
