If you have been following us you know that we have been releasing free sludge/doom/post-metal/etc compilations all summer long. These comps aimed at showcasing the best the underground has to offer in terms of those aforementioned genres, and have been met with a decent amount of positive praise. Now that August in upon us, we must release the final volume of our 2017 compilation series.
We proudly present Summer of Sludge Volume Three, the final and arguably heaviest installment of the Summer of Sludge series. Once again we offer up 15 tracks and over 90 minutes of the heaviest and gloomiest sludge and doom we could find. Below you will find the official track listing and stream of the compilation via Bandcamp. An alternative download link can be found HERE in case the free Bandcamp downloads are expended for the month. Remember, if you like any of the artists featured on this comp, please support them in any way you can.
Check out Volume One and Volume Two if you missed them.
Belarus-based trio Nebulae Come Sweet are poised to release their debut full-length album, It Is Not the Night That Covers You, on November 17. The record is quite the expansive one that weaves together trudging post-metal and serene post-rock with atmospheric and symphonic flair. It’s a gloomy and melancholic opus that sounds simultaneously familiar and alien. Fans of Isis or Junius might want to keep an eye out for this release.
Today, Svbterranean is excited to premiere the album’s closing track, “Santa Sangre”. The track is one of the more straightforwardly aggressive cuts on the release, with its unyielding barrage of thunderous sludge that is enshrouded in ethereal atmospherics. The track also features guest vocals from Kristoffer Bäckström of Swedish sludge outfit Moloken. Check out the song after the break and make sure to purchase the album at this location.
