Wyoming hardcore outfit Closed In (ex-Reproacher) recently released the debut single from their upcoming demo, One With Pain. Titled “Teeth”, the new track features muscular, sludgy riffs that hammer and gallop in the vein of Cursed. Check out the track after the break.
One With Pain will be released this month via Convulse Records. Pre-order here.
As with every other music blog or publication, we at Svbterranean are obligated to give you our silly opinions on what were the top albums of the year. I could list every single release I enjoyed this year, but I am limited on patience and writing ability. So, I was able to narrow it down to a modest 30. These are records that, not limited to just metal and hardcore either, that stuck with me long after the initial listen. Feel free to peruse the list below and tell me how my opinion is bullshit, because I will probably agree with you.
Wyoming’s Reproacher‘s cold and unforgiving sonic nature mirrors the emptiness of the desolate plains that stretch across their home state. With raw, dissonant sonic assaults, and lyrics that deal with the futility of existence, the Cheyenne quartet create an atmosphere of complete aural devastation. Since their 2011 self-titled release, the band have been gradually becoming darker, more unhinged and have been delving deeper into abstraction. With Nature’s Bastard, their third full-length offering, Reproacher have completed their transformation. The darkened metallic hardcore stylings of their previous releases have almost all been eradicated from the scene in favor of something more dismal, complex and sinister sounding. This is the Reproacher that Reproacher always wanted and needed to be.
Wyoming chaotic hardcore outfit Reproacher have premiered their forthcoming full-length album, Nature’s Bastard, over at New Noise Magazine. The album will officially be released on June 3 via Crown and Throne Ltd and can be pre-ordered at this location. The record is visceral, dissonant and combines elements of hardcore, sludge and mathcore in its ugly, unyielding sound. Fans of Gaza, Engineer, Of Feather and Bone and similar acts should take note of this LP. Check it out now.
