Oakland experimental post-metal duo Lament Cityscape have announced the release a new remix album. The album will be titled Turn Outward and will be released by the band themselves on February 19. The effort will feature material from the band’s debut album, The Torn, remixed by the likes of Godhunter, Dipped in Gold, rRhexis and more. The release will span over two hours in length, with the last track consuming an hour-and-a-half on its own. The band’s Mike McClatchey comments:
“At the time that I was really finding out about music and artists and diving deep into their back catalogs I was finding that a lot of really cool bands had been releasing singles and having other really cool bands do remixes on those singles. I was discovering a lot of great shit in those weird remix releases. When Lament Cityscape started I had done a remix for another artist and it came out pretty well. It felt natural to include others into our little world. It seemed like a creative way to expand the space inside our project, to let others in and see where they can take something.”

Lament Cityscape‘s plans for the year so far include recording new material, a collaborative LP with Theologian, and East and West coast tours with Theologian. More info on those when they become available.
